4/20

NEDERLAND, CO

Four/twenty is not about the friggin' party.

It's about mass civil disobedience. It's protest against being deprived of the most Natural and Human Right.

Let us not forget, in our enclave in the sky, the continuing oppression, the doors that are kicked in, the private property that is confiscated, the children that are taken from their parents, the lives that are destroyed by this senseless War on Plants.

Largely because of this War on Plants the United States of America has the highest percentage of it's population imprisoned then any other country in the world. This land of the free has a higher percentage of its population imprisoned than China, Cuba, and North Korea.

This is not the time to be stupid stoned.

Our "special freedom," here, when you really think about it, is a precarious and pathetic thing based on getting a note from our doctor.

This is not a time to celebrate. This is the time to gird your Self for the good fight against the continuing injustice.

I remember the first 4/20 protests in New York and Boston. Going to these protests was not about having a good time. You went to these protests prepared to be arrested. And many were arrested.

This year the student government of the University of Colorado at Boulder has withdrawn its support from one of the longest lived 4/20 events. And the student government has a valid point. This 4/20 event has become nothing but the friggin' party. It is just about getting stupid stoned.

And yet...What if this 4/20 event was to be a real protest, a rebellion with a higher-cause, attended by people willing to take an arrest, people willing to fight the good fight.

Now that would be well worth attending.

Liberty First

It’s a no-brainer
For it is as Foolish Ben says
Those that recoil from Liberty
For the Security
Deserve Neither

There is no excuse
Not Here
We are founded on Natural Right, Natural Law
We hold these truths – self-evident
All are equal
Endowed with unalienable rights
Life, Liberty, Pursuit of Happiness,
Possession, Cultivation,
Use of all plants
Found in Nature

For I too am Nature
And to the extent that I am Nature
Natural right, natural law
That which precedes and supercedes all the power of all the nation-state

I will not be told what seeds I can
what seeds I can not grow
Liberty First
It’s a no-brainer.
